I'm looking for the name of a movie involving time travel.

As far as I can recall, the character in the story that builds the time machine is either the grandfather or maybe the father of the kid who ends up messing around with it and going back in time.

I think I also remember that the character who builds the machine is an airplane pilot and that we see him flying his airplane in the movie at some point, maybe multiple scenes.

I know that the time machine is in the basement of the family house at the start of the movie up at least until the kid goes back, and I think this must have been made either in the 80's or if not then at some time CLOSE to the eighties.

I also thought this movie had some kind of connection with Disney at one point, but I'm not longer sure of that -at all-.

I'm also sure that the time machine in the movie spins around and is entirely or nearly entirely made of metal.

I also think it looked kind of like it was made of two main pieces but still seemed like it was really one single, somewhat big-ish whole.

But I say big-ish because I also remember it was only big enough on the inside for ONE single person to climb inside of.

.....And just to avoid making you think it is.. I'm 98% sure this is not a movie titled "The Time Machine". But if I'm wrong about that, please tell me about it!
