Can you help me remember this foreign film?
Hi, I remember this film really well, except the name of it and it's driving me nuts.
It's a foreign film, I think Italian language, but possibly spanish. Set in a medieval walled city in Europe under seige. The invaders make their way into the city, however a talented bearded artist (who looks not unlike Pavorotti) and his assistants stay behind instead of fleeing. The invaders end up finding them and take them all hostage, making the artist do portraits (or sculptures, can't exactly remember) of them. One of the assistants ends up having a relationship with one of the invaders, however in the end, just when you think she has turned on the artist, she kills the invader.
I thought it was blood and flesh, but although similar, this is not the film I am looking for. It was probably a film made around the 90s I'd say.
Any help would be much appreciated.
