Well I'd expect the sequel to have plenty of new Decepticons, just as the first one had.

*SPOILER*

Since Starscream got away at the end of the movie (if you watched past the credits), it's probably a safe bet that he flew away to round up some help. I'd expect at least one recognizable character like Soundwave or Shockwave to be the main baddie in the next one. As for new Autobots, well Optimus did retrieve that tiny piece of the cube from Megatron's chest, so maybe that can be used to make a new cube to create new Autobots.

What about Barricade and Scorponok? They were just kind of forgotten..

True. Scorponok was in on the action at the first half of the movie.. Well Barricade too, but he was at the Decepticons' assembly or something. They should at least be included in the second TF movie.

Yep. I've heard that in the novelization of the movie that Prime killed Barricade too, but since it wasn't in the movie I figure it didn't happen. Maybe there will be a deleted scene of that on the dvd, but I'm hoping Barricade comes back.

Originally, Blackout was called "Soundwave" and that's why he was able to launch Skorponok. But they figured they'd be better off with a whole new name for that character and save Soundwave for later. Don't look for him to be a mini-cassete player though, they insist on having the robots transform into something of a similar size.

Oh, and Paramount set a release date for "Transformers 2" today, look for it on June 26th, 2009.

Lol then what would they make him out to be? A whole sound system for a concert hall or something?

Yeah I'm wondering what they're going to do here. Megatron was left in one piece and gently dumped in the ocean in the first and you can't really have a transformers movie without Optimus and Megatron, unless Starscream becomes the new Megatron which he longed for in the cartoons.
