I just saw it, it was awesome. If you liked the grudge than you will like this one too

Nice, I'm excited to see it. The commercials have been on non stop and look super scary

Gettin psyched for the DVD release of this one--unrated, of course! I love horror movies that are grounded in something real, something tangible--I looked into 'spirit photography' when this came out and there's some creepy stuff at the American Ghost Society website and at Ghost Village...makes you really want to believe in this stuff.

Saw this in theatre EliotNess. I didn't find it to be anything special. It went by way that alot of Japanese films do nowadays with the flashes and the ghouls getting closer or moving about during each flash.

I didn't care for the ending either.

i noticed that asian horrors are becoming more stylish rather than scary. They are becoming formulaic and losing their touch.

examples are premonition, the grudge and naraka 19. All of them were useless.

I haven't seen 'naraka 19'.

'The Grudge I enjoyed most likely because it was still rather new to me. That style you speak of. The Ring was the only one before that and I loved that one.

'Premonition' was boring with no pace and could have made up for it with a decent logical ending but of course that was not the case.

yeah...i might just be new to the genre, the style still does it for me. and i got way into the subject matter. actually, they have a pretty cool website in advance of the release, some neat stuff on revenge themes in horror movies, and a fun feature where you can upload photos and mess with them to make them look like the spirit photos from the movie. i actually saw one i'd uploaded over at JoBlo in a banner ad for the release. hilarious.

Nothing like finding yourself randomly online.

anyone see the original and this one? I just watched the 2008 one yesterday and while I enjoyed it, it could have been more. I wonder if the other one is scarier or better delievered... or would it be lost on me having to read subtitles? I still liked the idea though and the ending. Pretty creepy.

I checked out that photo stuff Eliot. Here's mine:
