How was the monster?

No wait, actually don't answer that

I saw it last night. i thought that it was done really well without any real plot or climax or anything. the fact that this monster movie was shot from the point of view of the people experiencing and not omnipresently, makes it a note-worthy movie. i think even an oscar contender. the monster really isnt the main focus of the film, even though it is pretty badass looking.

I liked it.
The monster was pretty damn sweet I have to admit although I was worried it might look stupid.
I liked the point-of-view story-telling since it added a sense of realism to the film but I do want to now see a normal cinimatic version of it to see the full story unfold including its origin and arrival and its full battle with the military.
They only teased us with this and now I want more.

MORE!!!!!!

Based from what you post the movie is not good...as of you see the movie can you say something about what you thought is the main focus of the movie if it is not the monster....

MILD SPOILERS BELOW...

Basicly, it's about a group of friends who have gathered for a farewell party for one of them who is leaving for a job promotion in Japan the next morning.
During this, the monster attacks.

The rest of the movie shows a smaller group trying to escape the city while the main guy wants to turn back and rescue the girl he loves who was trapped in her apartment building during the attack.

The video camera shows their adventure during this night.

It does have alot of similarities to Blair Witch but alot better IMO.
There is no typical plot where a hero saves the day and defeats a giant monster like every other monster movie has. Everything we see is what the characters see. You basicly have to put yourself in their situation of what it would be like for the average person caught up in something like this.

As jakjak said no real plot or climax, and that's really not a bad thing this time.
I recommend the movie to anyone who wants to live through a giant monster attack and tell about it.
