I think she made the character her own and improved it. I hope she wins you over, I think she's pretty talented.
See, I grew up on the original series. I loved Starbuck and Apollo. They were like a couple of space cowboys. A guys movie you know. Starbuck was the ladies man who was funny but not a sassy little dork either. It's not so much that I lost that male identity with him but more so how she played the part. She was just a little punk who desperatly needed the comander to put her over his knee.

Now boomer, I didn't care so much about being a girl. I just needed my two boys to still be boys heheh.

I hear ya man I actaully bought the whole show on DVD. (Buck Rogers too) I still just think that in the long run I didn't really care so much about it because the show itself was really freaking good.

I really enjoyed Buck Rogers too. I watched most of Galactica till the first season. I love the Cgi's and bet it would make a great Cinema film if they ever do make one. If my bro ever gets the entire series on DVD, I'll most likely try to play catch up with those.

Here's the cast info.

# Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan) is a bartender who is involved in a near fatal car accident and becomes the Bionic woman.
# Jonas Bledsoe (Miguel Ferrer) is the apparent director of the Bionics program.
# Dr. Will Anthros (Chris Bowers) is Jaime's boyfriend and a Bionic scientist.
# Ruth Treadwell (Molly Price) is one of the Bionic team members.
# Jae Kim (Will Yun Lee) is one of the Bionic team members and was formerly romantically involved with Sarah Corvus.
# Becca Sommers (Lucy Hale) is Jaime's sister. Mae Whitman was originally cast in the role but was subsequently replaced (and her scenes in the pilot episode refilmed) after series production was announced. The character was originally depicted as hearing-impaired, and resentful of her sister. On announcing the recasting, series producers described the revised version of the character as no longer hearing-impaired but instead is a "budding hacker" who may "open a channel" to restoring the relationship between Jaime and her parents.

My brother was just telling me they had no sound effects like when she ran or used her bionic arm etc. That's bit of a downer. I loved that old ch-ch-ch-ch sound heheh.

Yeah that didn't bug me I think I probably wouldn't of liked it actually. Some things are sacred (he said with his nose up and in a very haughty way) Any way I thought it was pretty good I'll be watching for awhile and see what happens. Katie Sackoff stole all the scenes that she had in the show with Michelle Ryan so I hope Michell is able to come into her own a little more and balance things out some.

Here's the ratings info, I don't know why I care but I do, I guess I would just like to see the show get a chance to run for awhile to see if its gonna work or not...

NBC's new Bionic Woman debuted Sept. 26 with the network's highest Wednesday ratings among adults aged 18-49 since 1999's The West Wing, TV Guide reported.

The show was also the TV season's best drama debut in the demographic to date, the magazine reported.

Overall, Bionic Woman, starring Michelle Ryan as Jaime Sommers, drew 13.6 million viewers, less than ABC's Private Practice in the 9 p.m. time slot.

Hey at least it's a good start. I think we should have a better clue on how popular it is in the next few months though. How many episodes for this season anyways?

I got the file for episode one downloaded but it's only 45 minutes long so I'm hoping that's only the advertisings cut out.

I haven't seen any info on how many eps they shot plus I wouldn't give that to much weight even if they shot a whole bunch of them already. NBC to me is just a step behind Fox when it comes to hair triggers at pulling plugs on shows. So if the ratings don't stay at least where they are now it probably won't last very long. But we'll see.
