Default Doctor Who: Will we see the return of Davros?

From an interview with Terry Molloy (the staple Davros 'actor'):

"... It's been a long process to sort out the permissions between the BBC and Terry Nation's estate to have the Daleks back. We now know they'll be back, but where does this leave Davros?

Well he's going to be around somewhere - isn't he? I dunno, you'll have to ask the production team about that one.
I'd love to get the phone call. I would love to do it again, I guess I'm probably one of the few people from the original series who could go back to the new series because of the nature of the part.
Because we're a time-based programme, you can jump to wherever you want in Davros' rise or fall. The way he was going there wasn't much of him left but a head at the end of the last series ..."

Since his last appearance on the show in 'Remembrance Of The Daleks' with Sylvester McCoy in 1988, he has been a bit of a recluse.
There were a couple of audio stories with him and one very good WHO novel I have read called 'War Of The Daleks' where Davros' Daleks attempt an overthrow of the Dalek Primes Regime on the planet Skaro (Who fans will know what I'm dribbling about), which as it turns out was not destroyed by the Doctor in 'Remembrance' at all.
What do all you sci-fi and WHO fans think of the return of Davros?

I have no idea what you mean...

I'm beginning to think there's really no point posting anything in the TV section here at all! I mean, everything I have posted in this section just fades into oblivion.

Hi Kinzdone

Thought I'd bump this old thread ... sorry if it goes against the netiquette of the site.

I'm thinking the lack of response could be more due to the fact that most of the members are
a) from the USA, which until recently didn't have access to the classic series, although I believe that it may be being broadcast on a cable scifi network.
b) another reason is that many of the members are probably not old enough to have been around when the classic series was aired, after all it is the longest running tv scifi series in television history (and NOT Star Trek as many claim)

Regarding your question about Davros' return.

I doubt that Davros will make an appearance ... this in my mind is preferred because I'd hate 'him' to be fucked up by the new writers. I hated the episode based in new york where the darleks evolved into a new form ... terrible, terrible, terrible

An even scarier scenario would be for Davros to fall through the rift and end up in Cardiff ... LOL can you image what the writers will have Captain Jack and the Torchwood sex brigade do with his head <shudder>

I think the Dalek NY story was good, except that I expected a better Dalek hybrid than a stunned octopus.
The pig slaves, though explained as guinea pigs (Pig DNA is almost identical to human and is used in real experimentation) were OK as well, but I would rather have seen Robomen (1960's 'Dalek Invasion Of Earth' style).
Davros in Cardiff (rift) sounds plausible, but perhaps not on a Torchwood episode, keep Davros as the Doctor's enemy - period.
The BBC novel, starring McGaan as the doctor, titled 'War Of The Daleks' was a really impressive story and I ache to see it realised in film/TV.
Davros' pod is scavenged by a galactic trash ship and as the war on Skaro rages between the Thals and Daleks, a detachment of loyal Dalek Davros followers (previously seen in 'Remembrance Of The Daleks') intercepts the ship on which the TARDIS materisalises also.
To keep it short - Davros escapes to Skaro and starts an uprising against the Dalek Supreme.
I know what you're thinking - Skaro was destroyed by the Doctor in 'Remembrance Of The Daleks' using the hand of Omega! But, this too is explained, as even the Doctor finds out he has been played the fool.

It has a lot of really in depth studies of the Dalek psychology and 'evolution' through conversations in a '007 meets villain' style expostitionary dinner/drink session. Very good story, I recommend reading it if you get the chance.

After a q&a session with the BBC over Doctor Who they confirmed some things and were vague or 'no comment' on others:

The question of DAVROS returing got a big, "we can't comment about that..."
BUT - the Sontarans will be back, in fact on UK TV they probably already are andUNIT will be back, with Martha Jones.
