I beg to differ. There are just as many good movies today as there were then. A lot of new movies avoid cliches that old ones tend to have so thats a sign of improvment.
What i do dislike about modern comedies however is that they are quite revolting and offensive. They contain way too much fart, toilet and sex jokes and indicates desperation from the filmmakers. Obviously they dont know what jokes to do so they think "oh lets make the man masturbate in some grannys clothes" or " lets show a man wet himself in public". rubbish.
Where are the good family comedies like scrooged, back to the future and groundhog day?

regarding the rambo 4 trailer....i am not impressed at all despite being a colossus stallone fan.
Since rambo is well known and loved and hasnt been a film since 89, i expected something special, adding to the fact that stallone needs something to revitalise his career.
But the trailer looked very average and looks similar to rambo 2 and 3 only this time its in burma. Cant stallone place rambo in another environment? need something fresh.
Anyway, will see.

Nice to see ya FBI. <- alien smurf dude is dancing with joy
On to the topic though, the worst film I have seen of this was those dorks. Can't even remember the film. Had a midget in it though. They were just awful and wasn't funny the least.

2 things, first of all I definately dissagree, movies haven't gotten better they've gotten worse. Movie quality was a thousand percent better in the past than it is now. As far as Stallone goes, not to sound sarcastic but if you'r such a big stallone fan then how can you say he hasn't had a movie since 89? What about Get Carter? That came out in the 90s I think and Rocky Balboa just came out like a year ago. Also, he was in another movie calles spades or somethin like that about a con job and that was just like 3 or 4 years ago.

I may be wrong there unclejack but I believe FBI meant Rambo wasn't on film since then. But that was '88 wasn't it, so maybe he was off by a year I dunno.
This Rambo film doesn't look half bad. I mean it's looking a bit like saving Private Ryan the way the bodies are getting torn apart. I've only saw First Blood so I can't really say the others were or were not like this one. Just how it looks from a realistic point of view but that's still only watching a minute or so trailer.
Stallone isn't a bad actor if given the right part. I enjoyed his last Rocky film. His choice of films though haven't been the greatest from my point of view.
Since the 90's my favorites of his were Cliffhanger (1993), Assassins (1995), Cop Land (1997), and the recent Rocky Balboa but this is only my personal taste of course.

Copland often gets overlooked because of the cast that he was with in that film but he really good in that movie.

"Cliffhanger" was easily the best movie he's had in the past twenty years. I think Stallone's problem is that he tries to put too much humor in his roles instead of just playing them serious.
The main thing I didn't like about "Copland" was the whole weight gain thing. He couldn't be a dummy and be in shape? He just looked ridiculous. He had a gut, but his arms were still the same as usual.

I love the part when he goes outside the bar and raids the phone booth to get more quarters, LOL
And I don't know I guess the weight didn't really bother me I just took it in stride as part of the movie, his character was supposed to be really down trodden and sloppy and perhaps a little ridiculous as well which to me is why all the cops that lived there got him the job so he could just be a joke and not really do anything while all the supposed real cops could do whatever they wanted.

Yeah, that's exactly it. But he just didn't look right as a fat guy. It's not like when Deniro gained weight for his roles, or even George Clooney in "Syriana". He could have at least laid off the 'roids for a bit and softened up. I think that movie would have done better with someone like John Travolta, convincingly tubby in "Pulp Fiction", or even Bill Paxton, who can play the dimwit well.

I meant there hasnt been a rambo film since 88-89. I know stallone has had other films out since then. Daylight, demolition man and cliffhanger are my favs. His other ones are judge dredd, specialist, copland and spy kids.
saw rocky balboa but i thought it was quite weak in terms of rockys charcter. He said he wanted to fight but didnt really portray it that well.
Spent too much time walking around and talking rather than dreaming about a second chance for glory.
