Default Who thinks they should do a 3rd Predator film?

Who here thinks that they should stop with Alien Vs Predator, and start to do a third Predator film?

Another Predator would just be awesome for me, because I think that it's all been going downhill since they started doing AvP tbh... I'd be interested to know what your views are on this...

I wouldn't mind at all. I wonder where the setting would be though. So far it's been in the Jungle and then in a City for the 2nd one. The story has to be pretty good too. I was pretty disappointed in that second AVP film. The first one was much better IMO of course.

^ Oh I agree... The second AvP was terrible. The first at least gave us an insight into the history of the Predators.

The main problem with doing a third, would be the setting. Bearing in mind it would have to be on Earth (of course .lol.) I don't think jungle could work... But the city thing may be good again.

Yeah and it had a bit of scientific exploration involved as well which made it interesting. The last film only had a bunch of characters who got caught up in the mess. Very poor character development as well.

City may work. Don't think the desert would, or the Jungle again. And underwater is out of the question lol.

I would like to see a 'Predator 3' as well. I liked AVPR way better than AVP and I felt the character of the Predator was very faithful to the first two Predator films as if this one could have at least come from the same clan.
In AVP they humanised them way too much and lost some of the nuances and characteristics of the Predator.
In AVPR I finally got a sense that the Predator I knew was back.

In terms of Predator three, I would love to see one in central Europe, stalking prey amongst the classical gothic churches, architecture, Roman buildings and the general historical landscape. Only problem is that its too cold most of the year for them.
Another idea could be seeing a Predator film based in the Medieval or Roman times. A throwback to cement the idea that they have hunted here for millenia.
Or perhaps combining on film different eras of Predator history on the Earth somehow. They hunted Cavemen, prehistoric creatures, Romans, Spartans, Barbarians, Mongols, etc...
Or in todays' world the Predators would probably hunt where the conflicts are in the Middle East, Afghanistan or South Africa.
All I know is that you never know who will direct and it will probably be an unknown. All I hope is that it pays respect to the first two films and the character above all.

^ That was very nicely said... Spartans Vs Predators? .lol. That "would" be interesting to say the least. I enjoyed the explanation of the Predators in AVP... It was very smartly done.

But the reason I prefer Predator movies to AVP movies, is because in the Predator movies, a human character is always faced with the task of killing the Predator. To be able to kill a Predator as a human, means you are highly skilled and determined.

In the Predator films, the Predators always present the human with a gift, after they have killed a Predator. These gifts are pretty much always weapons, dating back to around 15th to 17th century... Why is that era so important to the Predators?

"Aliens Vs Predator Vs Terminators"......too much?!

A well done Predator 3 would be good. They need a big name star like the first one, and make the Predator the bad guy.

Absolutely...waaayyyy too much. I prefer that if they do a versus it is with somewhat similar types like 'Aliens versus Predator', 'Batman versus Spawn', 'Freddy versus Jason versus Ash' (the comic is great) or 'Robocop versus Terminator'.
AVPVT is somewhere around "...what a stretch..."! :D

They would have to have a really good story for it to be worthwhile.
Maybe set in a Bladerunner-esqe kind of world?

That could work too. The landmarks are what makes it unique and pleasurable on the eyes.

That's what I was thinking when Kinzdone brought up the past. Those old guns.

Perhaps we can see a Predator mixing it up with Wild Earp in the Wild West. :D
