Elaborate I will, on one idea I have, just briefly:
"It is now 2009 and conflicts in the world's hot zones have flared - South Africa in particular has seen a return to violence unparalelled in the past with marauding militias, corrupt armies and rebels fighting it out from the savannahs to the cities.
The NATO armies have been called in, but little is changing aside from a few secure compounds now under their control scattered across the land.
The leader of a contingent of NATO forces is a tough as nails Major and, you guessed it, he is under surviellance by the Predator after he was involved in a firefight near an area the Predator, who had come originally for small token game (Lions, Rhinos, etc), is stalking.
As part of his game plan, the Predator picks off the military population in the compound to weaken the Major's defenses to attack, hoping to study the Major in another combat situation. The Major is getting wise to the Predator after a few skirmishes with the creature and through various clues - much like the first film's skinned corpses and ripped skulls, deduces they are being hunted.
The compound is attacked by rebels and the Predator stalks both sides until only the Major remains, the civilians have all fled or are dead.
The final confrontation ensues and along with a surviving tech specialist the Major manages to hack into secret files in the NATO database regarding a cloaked extra terrestrial attacker. Information from previous encounters is also included along with something called a 'Xenomorph'.
Through expertise and intelligence the game ends when the Predator is beaten by the Major in hand to hand combat.
He becomes the advisor and leader for the EBE (Extraterrestrial Biological Entity) task force and this in turn starts a new chapter in the series as we start to hunt them."
Best screenplay and oscar winning performances - not, but its the perfect Predator formula and gives a chance to expand the mythos further. Introduce new weapons or gadgets and also pay homage to previous films.
I'd see this movie - and not just because I wrote an outline.
There is a terrible plotline around the net about Marines stopping an invasion of earth by Predators and I really hope that doesn't make it as a script. This plot is just non-sensical of yautja (Predators), as their cultural expressions of honor and sportsmanship and demonstrations of unwillingness to stalk weak or unarmed opponents should reflect no desire in them to invade another species' planet.
Plus, its also a really lame idea. Predator invasion, how long did it take someone to come up with that idea? Two seconds?
