The Golden Compass
First of all, I didn't think I'd like this movie. Don't get into kid, fantasy movies which is what I thought this would be. I was wrong big time. Really engrossing movie basically about the battle between control by an entity known as the magistrate, and free will. Great movie 9/10

I was let down a bit. I didn't think it would be that 'childish'.. Yea, u know. So yea, I didn't care much about it. Maybe my expectations were too high, dunno. The relationship between the girl and the polar bear was sweet though.

I think it was as disappointing as Narnia Chronicles. The special effect is good, the idea is creative, but not the plot or the acting...

I agree, The Golden Compass was entertaining, but it wasn't the best movie ever though. I still think Harry Potter trumps both Narnia and The Golden Compass
