Default Into The Wild

What did you think of Into the Wild?

I watched it last night....I liked it, though I would never consider it a favourite. I found it very LONG but not boring. It was a story that needed to be told. Interesting movie.

I absolutely loved it. I saw it in theaters and thought it was phenomenal. It definitely should have been a bigger Oscar contender than it was. It was my #6 on my 2007 movie list.

I loved this movie too. Watching Emile Hirsch depict the wandering life of Christopher McCandles was very interesting.

When I first rented it, I saw how long it was and thought ..oh crap..boring. But I was wrong. It was entertaining, well made and though I couldn't relate to wanting to live out in the Alaskan wilderness, Emile Hirsch played a likable, fascinating character. I really liked the movie.

Into The Wild is truly a life changing movie. I can't comprehend seeing this movie without being moved. Into The Wild really makes one consider the impact or lack there of that they are having on the world around them. Chris McCandlesstruly had in mind what was important in life. He realized how far an education can truly get you. It was the mission of Chris McCandless to make it to Alaska, and really experience the world. Along the way we meet a plethora of characters that Chris McCandless encounters. This is the honest heart of the story. This is a movie about the people we meet, and the impact we have. This movie stretches 2 hours and 28 minutes, but could have gone 6 hours or more and I still would be a captive audience for the stories that the life of the main character opens the audience too. Into the Wild captures an element of story telling that I have yet to encounter in any movie I've seen. The movie is so simple in it's style, yet so robust in it's delivery. I can't say enough good for the elements of this movie, and how it genuinely moved me as well as many others I'm sure. This is a beautiful picture, and one that completes itself. I only wish that I could have met the real life characters that we are only given glimpses of in this marvelous picture. To say Into the Wild was a great movie would be an understatement. This is a movie that truly belongs in the classics. I will be revisiting this adventure many times to come.

10/10
