You only get a year warranty on those don't you. So this happened within the year? How long to get a new one sent back to you then? My bro owns one of them and unfortunately for him, he just bought the HD hard drive a month or so ago.

Because there were so many of them dying, Microsoft upped the warranty to 3 years, so every 360 was covered. Mine died a little over a year after I bought it. At the time I couldn't find my receipts or anything and they wanted to charge me $140 to fix it, then they came up with that new warranty so I called them up and they sent out a prepaid shipping box for it, it didn't cost me a dime. It was crazy though because I rarely played the thing to begin with. If I played it a lot, it probably would have died within six months. Even now I don't really use it. I only bothered to get it fixed because it wasn't going to cost me, and to play Halo 3. And then even that game was a letdown. The only thing I use it for now is Mass Effect.
If your brother can't return it, at least he'll be able to get some good deals on some HD-DVD's as the stores try to clear out all their stock in the next couple months.

Yep, very true. They are still up in price now though cause I was looking today at them. I believe they have dvd players now that play both anyways don't they? Though a little pricey. I'm sure company's will make those to help benifit the consumers who bought into all those HD DVDs and perhaps make themselves a bit of a profit as well.
Have you seen that new Star Wars game coming out soon. Looks sweet. Theres this new 'Havok/euphoria physics engine ' that makes the characters 'always' do something a little different in their movements if for example they get thrown at a wall.

Haha, that's different. The only Star Wars games that I've liked were the Battlefront and Knights of the Old Republic.
I know there are a couple players that play both blu ray and HD-DVD, but I'd guess that those would have more problems than a dedicated one.
In another couple weeks every store will probably have a buy-one-get-one free deal on HD-DVDs.

This is funny. I just caught the tail end of a program that airs here in Canada where they track down answers for questions and such. This week they had their high definition technician take a look at a hi-def wire that this store was selling to the buyers for 250 bucks claiming they 'need' this to get the best quality. Well they bought one for 12 bucks on the internet and the tech said there is absolutely no difference between the two.
When asked why they were selling it for so much, the guy stood by what he originally said in that it was a much higher quality in how it was made blah blah blah like they usually do when caught like that.
These companies actually make the profit off the extra features that you buy with the High Def t.v. so consumers beware!!

Yep, I found some HDMI cables on dealnews.com for $4 a piece and use them on all my equipment. At Best Buy and other stores you can't find one for cheaper than $60.
