A bit of information about the movie...

Will Smith plays (as far as his character knows) the last man on earth, our hero, Robert Neville, a sole survivor of a world dominating virus created by man, that initially takes out 588 million people in 2009, and was originally created to somehow cure cancer. In 2012, Neville (a former scientist) dedicates his life to surviving for the sake of the human race, since he's somehow immune to the virus and those who have been infected, and attempts to find a cure. In order to find a cure, he seeks out the infected beings at night, who seem to have completely forgotten how to act human, their instincts and survival skills have become non-existent, and either takes them out to survive, or in some cases, drags them to his underground lab for research purposes, in hopes of correcting humankind's mistake.

I think I the movie wasn't bad because according to the entertainment new it hits the box office....

Ok I just came from this film and I enjoyed it very much.

What did I like about it?

*spoilers*

I enjoyed the flash backs now and then to give us an idea what had happened 3 years before the movie starts us off.

I loved the quietness of the film when he was alone in the city just with his dog.

The virus laden creatures that were once human were cgi but I think it was better that way than get real people in make-up. They were fast as hell too.

That one scene where his dog chased that dear into the dark car garage was intense. And what the hell were they all doing in that circle there anyways lol. I suppose that's how they rest in between day light till the night.

I like how he would catch them and do experiments on them to try and reverse the effects of the virus. Well it only showed one time he did this but it was pretty neat.

A few things that bothered me:

Why didn't he know that was his own trap that he ended up getting caught in? He was starting to lose his mind there so perhaps he had too much going on in his head. The sequence that followed with the mutant dogs, well they were afraid of that tiny strip of sunlight. But I just can't see it stopping a dog that was making a run at him. They'd have zipped by that light before they knew what hit them. Maybe got a burn out of it but still can't see it stopping them. I guess it helped make the scene a little more intense as he was dragging his butt back to the car while the strip of light kept getting thinner and thinner as the sun was going down.

Why his UV lights on his SUV wasn't keeping them from charging at him since that sunlight scene with the dogs was so effective.

Same with at his house.....they all charged at his UV light lamp stands not fearing them the least. I just didn't see it as sticking with the logic it started off earlier in the show with how sunlight scared them so much, they'd instantly run back and hide.

At the end there, why didn't he go into that chimney with the girl and her kid, yet just before doing so, unleash that bomb of his at the mutants. He wasn't that far off from them the way he ended up going about it. Maybe he just didn't want to take the chance.

I just watched I Am Legend last night and it was great. No spoilers in this thread, I'll just tell you this...I found this to be a very scary movie. Throughout it's entirety there will be things jumping out at you from nowhwhere and it will make you jump, you will be on edge through the whole movie and it will impress you.

* minor Spoilers*

Yeah I mean, nothing had to be jumping out at you either. It was the slow intense build up of certain scenes. The anticipation of something about to happen. Why do you suppose he kept covering the light of his gun with his hand? Was he wanting the vampire like creatures (there's a name for them but I can't recall what it was) to pop out? He was looking for his dog at the time so not sure why he wanted trouble instead of finding the mutt and gettin' the hell outta there.

Also, for those who have seen this film you may have noticed the little 'Batman/Superman' billboard poster showing along the wall of one of the city's buildings. Not sure if it was supposed to be a vs. deal or a team up deal though.
