We're not having problems with just the spam floating around here at movieforums, but also, I'm kinda sick of all the double-thread-posting.. I mean, the same film get dedicated with two or three threads, and it basically says the same in all of them.. We should, or Tyler really, put up a sticky, reminding people to search for example an filmtitle before they post a new thread.. Yea, I'm just saying.. Am I the only one who've thought about that? Yea, it probably is.. Anyway.

Damn, I'm getting more and more frustrated about all this spam at movieforums. We should demand an active mod to clear all unwanted crap that gets posted on the forum.. The last thing I noticed, TooSpoiled in Off-Topic.. Damn. Is there anyone else who are with me? Let us start a riot against our admin.. We don't have much to in that matter do we. The thing is that the forum is growing by posts and members.. So we need someone to clear all the junk off the forum. IMO though. Comments?

I really don't notice much spam around here. I mean, some people have different definitions for spam. Some see it as advertisements (yes), others say negative comments without an explanation (I don't think so) qualify. I don't mind it if a movie has two threads as long as they are distinctly different. But then again I don't really search out anything on this site. Whenever I drop in, I just click on "New Posts" and reply to anything that catches my eye. Yeah, a mod is probably needed just to get rid of the ads, but that's about it. I've been on one forum where the admin dissapeared for years at a time, and another where so many mods were selected in such a short time that eventually every regular poster was a mod and nobody new ever signed up because they were so intimidated.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

As I stated earlier in this post:

Quote:
When you see spam, please click the "Report Post" button which appears on every post underneath the person's username (the exclamation inside the triangle). I can then take appropriate action.
I get e-mail notification whenever a post/thread is "reported" to me, and I take appropriate action usually within 24 hours. In the case of a blatant spammer, I usually ban them and delete the thread, so please take advantage of the Report Post button!

Tyler, you have a major spammer called joox on the board. I can't find your pm button in your profile to let you know this and I see no alert button in any of hist posts to tell you.

LOL! Yeah hes a spammer, but he brings gifts! Love watching Tyler avoid the moderator issue. He's destined for politics.
