Default BLACK actors and Actresses (no role models for youths LOL LOL LOL )

I keep hearing this common theme on the news and by couniclours etc, that balck youths have no role models, and they are not put on TV in order to influence them.

Well anyway I was always going to start a thread on the best black actor around, it just fits in with the news today so, who is the best blacl actor around today, that these young black youths can look up to, they are really quite respectable. But they don’t have street cred, yeah right.

Notice how Will Smith never curses in his movies? He wouldn't do it in his rap either. I totally respect that about him. He said he doesn't do it because of his wise Grandmother and something she said to him one day. It was enough to deter him away from it anyways so thumbs up to her.

Yeah, I've always thought Will Smith was a great roll model for anyone not just black kids.
Plus some of his big budget movies have been favorites of mine like Independance day and Men in Black.

Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman & Michael Clark Duncan seem to be pretty straight-forward and stand-up guys as well (although sammy J. does have a potty-mouth)

I don't know much about the personalities of the females mentioned there but the fact that Halle Berry played 2 different superhero chicks (Storm and Catwoman), and Whoopi Goldberg was on Star Trek TNG because she's a Trekkie gives both them top spots on my list.

Morgan Freeman I always liked too.

Another one is Denzel Washington. The dude's been married for almost 25 years so is obviously doing something right with the amount of films he has made over the years and the many woman that must surround him at times too.

Very impressive for sure.

Thats nice. If u happen to have the article pls post it. I like reading baout inspirational life changing moments.

I am glad we have people like will smith now who doesnt feel he needs to swear and be rude to be cool. I feel that the media promotes and encourages the bad boy/girl image these days and is a terrible example to youngsters.

Yeah I heard it on an interview he did once.

Come to think of it........didn't his grandmother in I-Robot smack him on the head for saying a bad word? Maybe kind of a wink at his real grandma I'm thinking.

Actually Tyler I was thinking that very thing as I was writing what I said above. I just left it out heheh.

I did just look it up and her name was Adrian Ricard so no relation to him. Would have been cool though.

What about Don Cheadle? He's a great actor. More recently he was really good in Talk To Me and Rein On Me.
