I was also WTFing at Devastator. I thought "hey isn't Devastator a giant construction robot" but I forgot about it quickly because I was too busy being blown away. |
Somehow I don't think Mr Bay would want Unicron. He has a pet idea for an aircraft carrier, probably autobot 'Broadside', but aside from that he said himself he isn't interested in taking on board fan feedback and never liked liaising with fans of TF - because
'its HIS movie'.
The first was fun and had great TF moments, but 85% of the film was like a bad romantic comedy/sci-fi mixer.
Anyway, that aside, I now know that Bay wanted the name Devastator to stick, defying Hasbro, who already designed the toy and other merchandise with Brawl's name on it.
Like I said these rumours may all be fan conjecture, but there's a solid premise there and its the best scenario I've read for a part 2 so far.
Other speculations include Unicron, but not as a planet eater, I mean after they so radically changed the TF plot lines anyway, why stick to the planet idea?
I had high hopes for these films, I think everyone did, and its sort of split the fanbase. At least we got, in my opinion, an average film and not a complete disaster. I guess all we can do now is wait.
