I wouldn't go quite that far back. The 80s and 90s have produced some pretty good movies but over time it has gotten pretty scarce as far as originaity. In the 2000s there haven't been that many good movies though.

I know I was just kinda making a broad generalization, There have been a good number of films over the years that I have enjoyed.
